The Mindful Training Team

JOSHUA QUINN
Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Joshua moved to Austin in 2011 to attend the University of Texas at Austin. He entered the animal service industry when a position for Dog Trainer opened at Petco and remained in the animal service industry ever since. Years later he began to train independently.
After working as an independent trainer for over a year, he began to incorporate a mindfulness modality to his service. This was the beginning of Mindful Training.
Since then, Mindful Training has continued to serve central Texas as one of the few dog training entities with a focus on mindfulness. His favorite part of the training process is when pet parents express their playfulness while training.
Once the pet parent learns to have fun with the practice, they are set for life!

TONI QUINN
Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Toni moved to Austin in 2012 to attend St. Edward’s University. This was when Toni’s love for the city flourished. Their interests are rooted in health, wellness, and community.
Toni integrates the practice of mindfulness and dog training together in all their sessions, and leads the guided breath-work that is offered at Mindful Training.
Their favorite part of the training process is when pet parents become empowered to shape their dogs’ behavior.

Kiana Castaneda
Born in Beeville, Kiana entered the animal industry when she became a kennel tech at DogBoys in Pflugerville. When they went out of business in 2021, Kiana joined the Mindful Training Team as an apprentice. She is the newest member of the Mindful Training team. Kiana started as one of our first clients and fell in love with our modality. Her favorite part of the training process is when the client shares how Mindful Training has overall improved their lives. In the words of Guns N’ Roses, “All we need is just a little patience.”
